Arrive in Manali (2,050m), a beautiful town in Himachal Pradesh. Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude to prepare for the higher elevations ahead. Explore Mall Road, Hidimba Devi Temple, and Old Manali for a relaxed day. Stay overnight in Manali.
Start the journey via Atal Tunnel, entering Lahaul Valley. Visit Sissu lake and Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti. Refuel at Tandi, the last petrol pump before Zanskar. Enjoy the serene surroundings of Jispa (3,200m), enjoy riverside walk at evening and stay overnight.
Start early, ride towards Jispa, a beautiful village along the Bhaga River. Cross Darcha, the last major settlement before the high-altitude ride. Begin the thrilling ascent to Shinku La (5,091m)—one of the highest and most challenging passes. Expect rough roads, water crossings, and extremelandscapes. Descend into Zanskar Valley, witnessing a drastic change in terrain. Ride through Kargyak and Purne villages before reaching Padum, the administrative center of Zanskar. Overnight stay in Padum hotel/guesthouse.
A relaxed day exploring the cultural and spiritual side of Zanskar. Visit Shila Waterfall, one of the rare waterfalls in this barren region. Ride to Karsha Gompa, the largest monastery of Zanskar, home to ancient Buddhist relics and a preserved mummy. Continue towards Stongde Monastery, perched on a hill offering stunning valley views. Evening leisure time at Padum market, enjoy local delicacies. • Overnight stay at a hotel in Padum.
Early morning ride towards Sani Lake, known for its sacred significance. Head to Pensi La Pass (4,400m)—the gateway to Suru Valley. Witness the Drang Drung Glacier, one of Ladakh’s largest glaciers, an absolute spectacle. Visit Rangdum Monastery, a remote and peaceful Buddhist monastery. Ride back to Padum, enjoying the breathtaking landscapes along the way. Overnight stay at a hotel in Padum.
Start the ride towards Bardan Monastery, perched on a cliff above the Tsarap River. A short detour takes you to Raru Lake, a peaceful and scenic spot. Visit Ichar Village, home to an ancient Maitreya Buddha Statue. Continue the ride towards Gonbo Rangjon, a mystical rock mountain revered as sacred. Stay at camp at Gonbo Rangjon, enjoy stargazing in this remote location. Overnight camping experience at Gonbo Rangjon.
Begin the ride back, retracing the route via Purne and Kargyak. Cross Shinku La Pass, experiencing its thrilling ascent from the Zanskar side. Descend back into Darcha and ride towards Manali for a relaxed evening. Stay at manali
